The Problem:
Many young people starting their first jobs lack proper footwear. Not only is this a problem for their safety and well being, it is an unnecessary obstacle to maintaining stable employment,
an essential building block for self-esteem and future prosperity.
The Solution:
The Houses of Refuge Project, through Project Shoeleather, is partnering with San Antonio businesses to provide a helping hand.
Here's how it works:
You make a generous donation to Project Shoeleather.
We use those funds to provide businesses with $50 gift cards to distribute to new employees in need of shoes and other essential clothing.
New hires use the gift card to purchase suitable shoes or other essentials for the job.
Why it matters:
Starting a new job is exciting, but having the right tools is essential. Project Shoeleather removes a barrier and allows young workers to focus on what matters – learning, growing, and building a successful career.
