As many children in the US suffer from PTSD than soldiers returning from combat.

 

Over half of young people face mental or emotional health issues, the highest ever recorded.

 

Loneliness is reaching epidemic levels in this country, and is hurting people’s physical as well as mental health

 

These are the struggles which, if not unresolved, lead to substance abuse, toxic relationships, crime, and homelessness.

 

All of these struggles can be addressed with more social interaction among people, better support networks, and greater intergenerational engagement.

These are all solvable problems.

We need to step up and solve these problems. The Houses Of Refuge Project seeks to do exactly that.
